Review: Diggs Enventur Travel Kennel

If you travel with your dog frequently, a comfortable travel crate is a necessity. The Diggs Enventur Travel Kennel is a one-of-a-kind inflatable dog crate designed to fit well in most vehicles.

Yes, you read that right. This dog crate is inflatable.

Diggs has designed a dog crate that can be inflated in a matter of minutes and weighs less than 20 pounds. This dog crate is going to revolutionize the industry!

Keeping your pet contained while in the vehicle will ensure he stays safe, and so do your passengers. In the event of an accident, your dog could become a dangerous projectile injuring himself and anyone in your vehicle.

Travel crates also provide your dog with a comfortable place to rest while in the car or stopped along your journey. You need to be sure the crate you choose is lightweight and easily foldable to allow you to easily bring it along into hotels, camp sites or while visiting family or friends.

Most pet owners choose soft-sided crates as the best travel-friendly option. While they are great for convenience, soft sided crates aren't suitable for all dogs. The Diggs Eventur Travel Kennel combines the convenience of a soft-sided crate with the durability of a hard sided crate.

Diggs Enventur Travel Kennel Review

Diggs Enventure Travel Kennel

This is a first-of-its-kind travel kennel for dogs. It inflates and deflates in a matter of just a few minutes.

As I mentioned, it offers the durability of a hard sided kennel and the light weight and versatility of a soft-sided kennel. The Diggs Enventur Kennel is made of puncture resistant, waterproof material that has been tested to military standards.

It features chew resistant mesh on the windows and doors, as well. The small size has passed bench seat crash safety testing. Because this is a brand new product, there is ongoing testing for the medium and large sizes.

This crate has passed compression testing, tension testing, puncture testing and bite testing. It has also been tested against severe heat, severe cold and freezing rain. The zippers have even been zipped and unzipped over 2,000 times to ensure their longevity.

You can learn more about the extensive product testing on Diggs' website.

Inflatable Dog Kennel

This travel kennel from Diggs is available in 3 sizes:

  • Small – for dogs up to 30 pounds, external dimensions are 27” L x 18” W x 20” H,  internal dimensions are 25.5” L x 16.2” W x 18.2” H, and weighs 13 lbs.
  • Medium – for dogs up to 55 pounds, external dimensions are 34” L x 22.5” W x 27” H, internal dimensions are 32” L x 18.5” W x 23” H, and only weighs 17 lbs.
  • Large – for dogs up to 80 pounds, external dimensions are 40” L x 24” W x 30” H, internal dimensions are 38” L x 20” W x 26” H, and only weighs 20.5 lbs.

In my video review and photos, you can see the unique shape of this inflatable dog kennel. The angled walls maximize space for your dog, but also allow the crate to fit comfortably in most vehicles. Also, the attached D-rings allow you to easily secure the crate with tie downs.

I also demonstrate how easy it is to inflate and deflate the kennel in my video review at the top of this page. You can purchase a hand pump through Diggs, but the crate is also compatible with stand up paddleboard manual or electric pumps that use the Halkey-Roberts valve attachment.

The air-cushioned floor is basically a built in bed that offers support and keeps your pet up off the cold, hard ground. The padded walls and cross ventilation from the mesh windows make this a super comfy crate.

You can see how easy the crate is to pack and store in my video review. It deflates in minutes, rolls together easily and there are buckles to secure it for easy carrying.

This first-of-its-kind crate has a lot of positive features. It's ideal for car travel, incredibly lightweight, easy to inflate and deflate and incredibly durable. Not to mention, this crate is exceptionally comfortable for your dog.

I really don't have one negative thing to say about this crate, except for the price tag. I expected it to be expensive because of its unique design and high quality materials. You can purchase the small size for $425, the medium size for $475 and the large size will cost you$575.

Obviously, this crate isn't going to work with everyone's budget. If you travel with your pet a lot, this crate will be worth the cost. It's versatile, durable and comfortable for you pup. However, if you don't take your pet on trips very often, it may be better to look for a cheaper travel kennel option.
