Pure Balance dog food is an affordable premium quality food produced under the Walmart company name. Initially well received by pet parents, it’s a food that boasts few fillers and a price tag for any budget. Although, recent complaints may reflect a poorer Pure Balance dog food review in the future.

Pure Balance dog food was released in 2012 by Walmart as a premium dog food line with a budget price tag. Considered a premium food line, Pure Balance was perhaps an effort to make consumers forget the debacle that is Walmart’s Ol’ Roy dog food.

It is widely believed that Pure Balance pet foods are manufactured by Ainsworth, the same company responsible for manufacturing some Blue Buffalo dry foods and Rachel Ray’s food line.

Pure Balance was released in response to demand for a healthier, higher quality dog food that does not have an exorbitant price tag. This is one of the biggest draws for pet owners who choose to feed Pure Balance.

Some of the benefits we need to be sure to note in this Pure Balance dog food review include:

No corn, wheat, or soy in most of the Pure Balance foods.

Con’s

Some of the drawbacks that should also be included in this Pure Balance dog food review are:

Not all Pure Balance foods are grain-free although they appear to be so from somewhat deceptive advertising.
Some formulas have particularly high levels of carbohydrate content.
Possible changes/problems with formulas have resulted in negative reviews citing sickness.

There are no recalls of Pure Balance dog food to date, however, some reviews indicate that there have been some alterations/changes/problems with some of their foods lately despite a lack of recalls.

Pure Balance is available via Walmart, Walmart.com, and Amazon (although Amazon is discouraged since it’s twice the retail price you will find at Walmart). Overall, Pure Balance foods are above average in terms of ingredients with the exception of the 95% meat canned foods which provide incomplete nutrition information.
